True Customer Services – Johnny the Bagger.
It is the Story of an Individual name Johnny he used to do bagging for Customer who used to visit the store.
Though he was very hard working however even after his best of efforts he was not able to do anything to delight the customer, he always wanted to make difference.
After all he was just a bagger. He spoke to his father about it and his father replied “You need not require a Big-Bang Idea to make your customer happy”.
Johnny had an Idea.“Every night after work, he used to find a thought for the day, What was great about the day which is passed.
He started writing the thoughts of the day which is his orientation towards the customer, his dad helped him set it up on the computer and print multiple copies.
Johnny cut out each quote and signed the back. Then he’d bring them to work the next day.
“After finishing bagging of someone’s grocers, he used to put his thought for the day in their bag and say, thanks for shopping with us.”
After a month or so store manager to his amused, he found Johnny’s checkout line was three times longer than anyone else’s.”
He quickly announced, ‘we need more cashiers; get more lanes open.’ As he tried to get people to change lanes. But no one wanted to change the Que.
They all replied, “No that’s OK we want to be in Johnny’s lane. We want his thought for the day.”
“Store manager got stumped when one woman said, ‘I used to shop at your store once a week, but now I come by every time I go by, because I want to get Johnny’s thought for the day.’
After few months the store was transformed there were more crowed in the store all this happened because Johnny’s chose to make a difference.
Johnny’s idea wasn’t nearly as innovative however a small effort of him delighted the customer.
