
Ofcourse 2020 has been a different year for all. Some accomplished what they wanted to achieve. While some frowned upon the lost opportunities. To have a better forthcoming year, it is good to reflect on the year passing by.
So what you should do before the end of the year 2020?
Some of the questions you can ask yourself-
- Did you manage to get through the year without completely breaking down?
- Are you more stable than what you were at the start of the year?
- Has your perspective improved?
- Are you in less debt than at the year start?
- Were you able to achieve even 50% of what you had planned for this year?
- And the list goes on…
Create a list of all the things you’ve achieved this year
This is not meant to get demotivated in case lot of the bucket list items were not ticked off in the current year. But it is important to know where you stand currently. This will also help you to focus on your current necessities and what needs to be prioritized for the next year. It could so happen that majority of your bucket list items have changed and you would want to make a fresh list of things to achieve in the next year.
The list need not have only big things like buying a house or a car. Small or big, everything that you achieve, matters. It could also be as simple as decluttering things that you wanted to do since long. Or planning a small or a big business. You will be amazed to realize your achievements. Be it arranging your long pending bookshelf, crockeries, reviewing wardrobe, managing kitchen appliances, makeover of a balcony and so on.
Create a list of all the things you’re yet to accomplish
Only once you review the year passing by that you realize where you stand. Achieved and not achieved list helps you get a direction for the next year. It could be as simple as reviewing your Resume or managing your finances and investments. It could also be taking up an online course for building your professional skills or learning another cuisine. Or making a list of people to meet you couldn’t in the year gone by. Or places to visit and things to learn. Solving relationships with people and self-care are some other things to pen down.
All these ways will surely take a little time of your but will benefit you in a much larger way. The benefits could be really surprising as you will be able to focus and plan your next year in a much structured way.
Choosing a few things and concentrating on them to achieve can convert your year into a positive year ahead. This is another way to be mindful and productive for the upcoming year.
